Conference Agenda

We have many great things planned for the Fall Conference.

Tentative Agenda (updated 10/19/2020)

Looking for more session descriptions and details? Check out our agenda in Whova here!

The tentative agenda is posted here, but remember we still have many things in the works!

  • Because we won’t have a President’s reception in person we anticipate creating a fabulous lunch session for you to relax and enjoy time with colleagues near and far.
  • We have stretched it from three days to all five days, the week of November 2nd through the 6th.  Our intention is to create a conference that allows for work and session time as we recognize you will be working while attending this conference.  And because you can’t escape as you usually do to a conference, we hope this allows for you to address work issues while still enjoying the conference.
  • If you register before October 9th, you should watch the mail for surprises!

Conference Theme

The main theme of the conference, Bridging Alliance and Creating Knowledge (BACK), is intentionally addressing WASFAA goals to focus on diversity, building partnerships, and creating allies within our communities. The phrase we reference to embody our feeling of the conference theme is "Ubuntu," a Nguni Bantu term meaning "humanity." It is often translated as "I am because we are," or "humanity towards others" but is often used in a more philosophical sense to mean "the belief in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity."

Bringing us BACK together in a world of virtual experiences.  Our conference is bringing us BACK together for opportunities of connection. These connections will allow time to reflect on our own identities, create meaningful impact, and link partnerships to form a powerful network in which our students can succeed.
