    Position Summary
    Provide exceptional customer service to prospective and current students on college financing options, including federal financial aid, veterans’ benefits, scholarships, and payment plan. 

    Duties & Responsibilities
    Proactively cultivate student-focused relationships with prospective and current students by demonstrating exceptional customer service through written communication, phone calls, virtual appointments, and outreach events.

    Conduct individual and group college finance advising and FAFSA completion sessions.

    Provide students, parents, and staff with information regarding the availability and eligibility requirements of federal student aid and veterans benefits.

    Utilize Salesforce CRM software to maintain communication records.

    Provide proactive outreach to students who have incomplete financial aid files and support completion of necessary documents.

    Maintain financial records in accordance with school, state, and federal regulations.

    Educate student borrowers about their financial obligations and future financial management.

    Participate on committees and taskforces related to student success.

    Conduct presentations and workshops on financial aid, financial literacy, and college affordability to various stakeholders both on and off campus.

    Collaborate with Outreach and Advising departments to assist with the case management of prospective and current students on matters related to student finance.

    Stay up to date on federal and state financial aid programs, VA benefits, and military TA requirements.

    Coordinate with departments, such as Academics, Marketing, and the Mid-State Foundation, to identify opportunities to advance financial aid messaging within Mid-State’s district to maximize financial aid utilization.

    Provide backup support for processing financial aid.

    Review, create, maintain, and update new and continuing student files and applications.

    Provide office support to include creating and maintaining documents; generating letters; updating website; and maintaining records.

    Establish and maintain report functions.

    Evaluate student eligibility for loans and grants according to established guidelines.

    Handle sensitive information in accordance with applicable guidelines and regulations.

    Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications
    Associate degree in related field required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

    Prior work experience in education environment required.

    Federal financial aid experience preferred.

    Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office applications, and PeopleSoft applications, or the ability to learn and use PeopleSoft. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, and Visio.

    Must possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

    Compensation is dependent upon experience and qualifications.
