    Position Summary
    Determine eligibility for a variety of federal and state financial aid programs and manage the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) process. Coordinate and serve as the lead point of contact for financial aid verification and for certification of Veterans’ administrative educational benefits. Provide administrative, data management, and customer service support to the financial aid function.

    Duties & Responsibilities
    Maintain, enhance, and manage the SAP process, including appeals, outcomes, and communication.

    Assist with calculating and verifying eligibility and awarding federal, state, and private resources to financial aid eligible students according to federal and state regulations.

    Adjust awards based on enrollment changes, additional outside funding sources, and repayment calculations.

    Serve as the lead point of contact for financial aid verification, including performing verification on selected ISIRs and understanding federal guidelines for verification.

    Transfer student and financial aid records using the Department of Education data management systems and PeopleSoft.

    Manage Veterans benefit programs, including certifying and monitoring VA students in VAONCE and State reporting systems, as well as maintaining eligibility and benefit records of VA students.

    Serve as back up to Student Finance Specialists in providing information and problem-solving for students, prospective students, parents, staff, and general public

    Provide office support to include creating and maintaining documents; generating letters; and maintaining records.

    Stay up to date on federal and state financial aid programs, VA benefits, and military TA requirements.

    Assist VA students/dependents in applying for educational benefits.*Handle sensitive information in accordance with applicable guidelines and regulations.

    Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications
    Associate degree in related field required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

    Prior work experience in education environment required.

    Federal financial aid experience preferred.

    Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office applications, and PeopleSoft applications, or the ability to learn and use PeopleSoft. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, and Visio.

    Must possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

    Compensation is dependent upon experience and qualifications.
