    Position Summary
    Provide leadership for and administration and oversight of student financial aid for the College, adhering to regulations with integrity, developing a customer-service focused environment, and upholding the mission and vision of the College.

    Duties & Responsibilities
    Leverage technology in the facilitation of managing all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Financial Aid Office including the reviewing, processing, awarding, compliance, and oversight of Federal and State financial aid programs.

    Create structure and procedures to provide exceptional customer service across the district and meet the needs of students related to financial aid, including but not limited to: individualized appointments, staffing phones and chat, and managing email.

    Provide consistent management, coordination, and working knowledge of regulations and guidelines for administering Federal Title IV student financial aid, State of Wisconsin financial aid programs and Federal and State Veterans benefits, ensuring the College financial aid policies and procedures are documented and in compliance.

    Develop and refine outreach activities specifically for the schools and communities of the District. This includes financial aid nights, workshops and other activities to promote the services offered.

    Oversee and manage processing and reporting for Veterans serving as Veterans Certifying Official for the College.

    Provide oversight and administration of all non-financial aid student financial support assistance programs including emergency grant, emergency loan programs as well as collaboration with the MSTC Foundation on the awarding and disbursement of scholarships and grants to most effectively meet student needs.

    Oversee the coordination of work study funds.

    Coordinate Federal and institutional financial aid award information with the Business Services Office and the funding source to ensure the accurate processing of student accounts and payment to the College.

    Prepare and provide internal and external reports on student financial aid programs and scholarships.

    Develop and implement procedures for financial aid audits.

    Effectively prepare and maintain budget.

    Be a change agent within Financial Aid to develop continuous improvement and identify opportunities for greater efficiencies in the area of financial aid to assure exceptional customer service is provided.

    Supervise, support, and evaluate staff to include establishing goals and objectives and monitoring and advising staff on progress in order to promote the achievement of organizational goals and to contribute to employee professional development.

    Serve on College and statewide committees.

    Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications
    Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution required. Master’s degree preferred.

    Minimum of five years of related experience in higher education required.

    Prior leadership and supervisory experience required.

    Knowledge of federal and state regulations relevant to veterans, federal and state financial aid, and other sources of student aid and indirect/direct lending.

    Ability to design, oversee, and assess multiple aspects of a financial aid program, and implement changes and improvements as needed.

    Ability to use, learn, and leverage the use of technology such as PeopleSoft, querying software, digital imaging, and federal financial aid databases.

    Ability to evaluate workflow and processes to develop and implement plans/programs leading to greater efficiencies while leveraging technology.

    Must possess excellent problem resolution, organizational, interpersonal, communication, leadership, and project management skills.

    Compensation is dependent upon experience and qualifications.
