Financial Aid Advisor, University of Wisconsin-Whitewater

Position:  The Student Services Program Manager I (04) reports to the Director of Financial Aid.  The primary responsibility is to counsel and advise students/parents on the financial aid process and the application procedures.  This position also informs students/parents concerning the eligibility/availability of federal, state, and institutional financial aid funds.  Other responsibilities include the review and verification of data provided on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the analyzation and interpretation of federal and state regulations, packaging, revising awards, and recalculating financial need based on special circumstances and professional judgment.  The individual will attend financial aid conferences and workshops and participate in financial aid nights and other recruiting/retention programs for the University.

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree with two to three years’ experience in financial aid or other higher education student services unit required.  Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, College Student Personnel Services, Guidance & Counseling, or other related program preferred.  Good computer skills; PeopleSoft experience a plus.  Excellent written and oral communication skills and customer service skills are required.

Rank & Salary:  This position is a full-time annual academic staff position.  Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
